Tool life

Tool wear will reduce tool life and affect machining accuracy.

Tool wear includes normal wear and abnormal wear. Abnormal wear is closely related to temperature (emulsion cooling performance) and particulate matter.

Cooling good cutting fluid local high temperature generally will not exceed 650℃, poor will reach 800 ℃

Once the temperature exceeds 800 ℃, it is easy to lead to oxidation of coating, tool wear faster and more obvious.

Statistics show that 43% of wear is related to particles. The 10-80μm particles have the same damage to the tool as the large particles, accounting for a higher proportion.

Studies have shown that impurities in cutting fluid:

From 40µm to less than 10µm, tool (or grinding wheel) life can be extended by 1 ~ 3 times;

When the tool is reduced from 20μm to 10μm, the tool durability can be extended 2 ~ 4 times.

 

 

Particles not only damage the tool, but also affect the machining accuracy, forming scratches on the surface of the processed material. For some finishing processes, these scratches are unacceptable.

 

 

Human health effects, mainly caused by its components and contaminants (especially microorganisms and their decay products) entering the working fluid:

■ Influence of components: Among them, mineral oil, sodium nitrite, chlorine extreme pressure additives will cause carcinogenic or strong carcinogenic substances, sulfur additives will produce odor under the action of microorganisms.

■ Microbial influence: When the microbial content reaches 106CFU/mL, the cutting fluid will stink and the site environment is unbearable; Among them, if the relevant microorganism * is infected by the human body, the minor will cause all kinds of inflammation, and the serious will cause uremia, sepsis, carcinogenesis, teratogenesis and so on.

■ Effects of inhalation: The cutting fluid will evaporate into the air, which will cause respiratory organ damage and respiratory diseases, such as cough, chronic bronchitis, rhinitis, etc.

■ Effects of exposure: It can cause dry skin, degrease, cracking, eczema, redness, folliculitis, acne, pus (pus), lung disease, and even cancer.
